List of WA Covid exposure sites grows as one person tests positive

These are the new places that West Australian health authorities have put on high alert as Covid-19 exposure sites.

Several new Covid-19 exposure sites have been added across Perth as Western Australia recorded one new case and authorities extended restrictions for another week.

The exposure sites in Perth, Fremantle and Burswood include major train services on three consecutive days and an organic supermarket.

Anyone who visited the below venues is asked to monitor for symptoms unless directly advised otherwise by the Department of Health. If symptoms develop, get tested and isolate.

  • McDonald’s Hay St and William St, Perth — December 22 from 11pm to 11.20pm
  • Kakulas Sister — 29/31 Market St, Fremantle — December 22 from 4.20pm to 4.30pm
  • Burswood to McIver train ride Armadale/Thornlie line — Burswood and Perth — December 22 from 2.40pm to 3pm
  • Burswood to McIver train ride Armadale/Thornlie line — Burswood and Perth — December 21 from 5pm to 5.30pm
  • Burswood to McIver train ride Armadale/Thornlie line — Burswood and Perth — December 20 from 4.15 to 5.30pm

Restrictions returned in the Perth and Peel regions last week after a positive case – a French backpacker who flew in from Queensland – visited several locations and bar-hopped in Northbridge.

The restrictions include an indoor mask mandate, and the cancellation of major public events and nightclubbing as contact tracers assessed the situation.

On Monday, Premier Mark McGowan announced about 608 close contacts had been identified as part of the current outbreak, with about 86 per cent of those tested returning a negative result so far.

Of those close contacts, 86 are still yet to be tested.
