The Brisbane Lions have been unable to identify a fan who is believed to have racially abused a Gold Coast Suns player at the weekend.
The incident took place during the Lions’ commanding 43-point win over the Suns on Saturday night at the Gabba.
However, the club confirmed that the fan in question was yet to be found due to having a general admission ticket.

“The club has conducted an investigation into the reports but as the person sat in a general admission area, we have been unable to identify them,” a statement read, in part, on Tuesday afternoon.
“There is no place for racism in our game.
“The club takes matters of racial and anti-social behaviour at our games seriously. Such behaviour is at odds with our values and the club we aspire to be. Had we been able to identify the person, action such as revoking membership or banning them from attending Lions games in the future would have been taken.”
The Lions have already been involved in a racism storm earlier this season, when star forward Charlie Cameron was abused by a fan online.
Lions CEO Greg Swann said at the time that he was “angry and disappointed” that Cameron and other players had constantly been attacked.
Western Bulldogs star Jamarra Ugle-Hagan was also attacked during a game earlier this season.
