Linda Nolan suffers fall as she shares ‘devastating’ cancer update
Linda Nolan revealed she recently fell backwards on the stairs and as a result is covered in bruises as the singer opened up about losing her hair for a fourth time.
The Nolan sister, who is now living full-time at her sister Denise’s house in Blackpool, can not walk without a stick and also has to use a wheelchair.
The 64-year-old said a stairlift is now being installed at her sibling’s home to make it easier for her to get around.
Addressing her recent fall, Linda commented: “I feel I’ve run a marathon, sadly I haven’t.”
The singer is also planning for the arrival of a mobility scooter despite never having driven in her life.
She told the Daily Mirror: “I don’t drive, I’ve never driven in my life. But I’m going to use an electric scooter. Watch out the promenade!”
Linda also spoke about losing her hair for the fourth time in her life.
The on-screen star was initially diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2005, it returned to her hip in 2017. Then in 2020, she was told it had spread to her liver before doctors found two sizable tumours surrounded by smaller ones in her brain this spring.
She is admittedly terrified as the cancer has now spread to her brain and is incurable – as she reflected on what her sister Bernie went through.
As she undergoes gruelling chemotherapy, Linda admitted she was emotional and unable to speak.
Linda said: “I just feel, because I’ve been having steroid treatment as well and my face is swollen, I look like Mrs Potato Head.
“People say, ‘Well you know you look great’, but inside I’m screaming ‘I just don’t want to lose my hair again!’ I was devastated at losing it.”
She now has two wigs that she is now wearing, after losing her again but admitted she “hates them”.
Two of her sisters were also diagnosed with breast cancer – Bernie, who died in 2013 aged 52, and Anne who has been diagnosed twice but is now in remission.
Linda’s husband, Brian, died of skin cancer in 2007.
