The company said the Model L100 pays homage to its classic 1922 Model L “with updated looks for the information age.”

“Lincoln has been one of the most enduring and stylish automotive brands in the world and in many ways,” executive chair of Lincoln’s parent Ford Motor Company Bill Ford said.

“It is perfectly positioned for a second century defined by great design, zero-emissions and technology-led experiences.

“Lincoln has always been special to me and my family, especially my father and my grandfather.

“If there is one secret to Lincoln’s longevity, it is the brand’s ability to balance its core values with a desire to innovate and create the future.”

The sleek design of the Model L100 is aerodynamic and the transformable space allows the vehicle’s prospective users to relax.

It’s an autonomous car with an intelligent driving experience, connectivity, and software-driven innovations, according to the manufacturer.

The concept is said to “embrace the tension between exuberant elegance and subtle restraint.”

Lincoln said that the transformable space of the aerodynamic design allows the Model L100 to “create human connection in a sanctuary that is truly Lincoln.”

“We are at a special moment in our history,” Lincoln President Joy Falotico said.

“Over the last 100 years, Lincoln has pioneered multiple innovations and pushed the boundaries of design that have come to define our brand as we know and love it today.

“With the Model L100 Concept, we reimagine what the Lincoln sanctuary might look like for our clients of tomorrow moving us forward to define the next chapter of the Lincoln story.”

Lincoln said that the model has accents of amethyst in recycled suede fabric and that designers created the Model L100 cabin with animal-free materials and luxury alternatives.

As future-forward as Lincoln said the model concept is, drivers turned to social media with questions about the apparent size of the model.

A number of people replied to the CEO of Ford, Jim Farley’s Tweet about the concept.

One person replied saying: “How do you get in it? Lol.”

And another added: “The Titanic called, it wants its life preservers back.”

Other Lincoln fans shared varying concerns about the new model in reply to Engadget’s tweet about the concept.

“How will the tires work on a bump?” someone asked.

“Never gonna happen” one person replied to Lincoln’s official tweet about the Model L100 concept.

Someone else said: “Stoooopp. How much money went into this concept that will never see the production line? No one cares about these far out concepts that never happen. Save your money.”

Another fan replied to that tweet as well saying “I could not agree more… Pointless.”

“That’s right. A rendering concept car they will never build. Why?” another person added.

One more said: “Until cars are of (sic) the ground I’m not impressed.”

A fan even asked Lincoln: “Does this mean you are making cars again?”

Lincoln’s Twitter page replied: “Hi there! While we don’t currently have plans to reintroduce a sedan to our lineup, the Lincoln Model L100 is a visionary concept that showcases our design thinking for the future and provides us with a platform for feedback.”
