Lewis Hamilton spotted with newly-single Shakira for second time in Miami

Lewis Hamilton has been spotted for a second time with pop star Shakira, with the F1 icon sticking around for a few days in Miami following last weekend’s Grand Prix. After footage emerged on social media of the pair in a restaurant, new photos show them enjoying a boat ride with friends in Florida.

Shakira, who was born in Colombia but now counts Miami as her home, was picked up by friends in a boat – including Hamilton – from the back of her glitzy £16million Florida mansion before a cruise around the bay.

After footage of the pair coming face-to-face in a restaurant sent social media into a frenzy, another meeting is sure to stir up fresh rumours about a potential relationship. Shakira, 46, split with former Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique in June last year.

Hamilton, meanwhile, has maintained secrecy over his love life for the past few years, claiming in 2018 that it was ‘non-existent’.

According to The Sun, the driving sensation and the pop legend are ‘just friends’. Hamilton is seemingly taking a few days to unwind in America after an up-and-down weekend at the Miami Grand Prix.

The seven-time world champion shocked just about everyone by failing to make it through to the final qualifying session on Saturday, which forced him to start a lowly 13th on the grid.

Steady progress through the field on race day saw him progress to P6, although Hamilton’s younger Mercedes team-mate, George Russell, stole the spotlight with an impressive performance to pip both Ferraris to fourth place.

Although Hamilton appears to be fairly relaxed, as evidenced by his multiple sightings with pop royalty, speculation persists around his future with Mercedes. The 38-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season and the anticipation of a new deal has dragged on for months.

Despite Hamilton’s search for a first Grand Prix win since 2021 coming up short in Miami, he still took positives from the contest as Mercedes’ pace seems to be improving relative to their competitors.

“It was great to have pace and see the cars ahead and see the progress,” he told Sky Sports. “I had a couple of great overtakes as well and that is what I live for. It felt great to see the Ferrari up ahead and be catching it bit by bit.”
