Lewis Hamilton and Shakira are said to be in the “fun and flirty stage” after spending time together recently. The seven-time F1 world champion has been pictured with Shakira in public following the singer’s split from Barcelona hero Gerard Pique last year.
Hamilton suffered a torrid time on the track last season amid a myriad of problems with his Mercedes car. And he could only muster a sixth-place finish in the Drivers’ Championship standings.
Things have barely been better this time around, with the 38-year-old appearing to already be out of the title race after just seven Grands Prix after falling 83 points behind leader Max Verstappen. But Hamilton did have some joy last weekend as he bagged a second place finish at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Shakira was at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to witness Hamilton in action. And the duo then went out for dinner with friends Daniel Caesar, Fai Khadra and Mustafa, with the latter posting a picture to Instagram which showed Hamilton with his hand around Shakira’s waist.
And according to People, Hamilton and Shakira are “growing closer.” And a source who knows the duo told the publication: “They’re spending time together and in the ‘getting to know you’ stage. It’s fun and flirty.”
Hamilton has been romantically linked to the likes of Nicole Scherzinger, Danielle Lloyd, Rita Ora, Barbara Palvin and Rihanna in the past. But he could now have his eyes firmly fixed on a new flame.
Hamilton has habitually kept his love life private in the past. But following his breakup from pop star Scherzinger in 2015, the veteran driver said: “It may be slightly different in that we are travelling as much as we are, and you are just away for crazy amounts of time.
“So that’s probably an additional weight that makes it really, really tough to hold down a good relationship, and if things aren’t quite perfect.”
