Levitt Pavilion drops first wave of free 2022 shows: Mark Farina, Calexico and more
Summer 2022 will see the return of Levitt Pavilion’s free live music calendar, the venue confirmed today with its first big drop of artists for the upcoming season.
The nonprofit amphitheater, part of a national network of Levitt venues, opened in southwest Denver’s Ruby Hill Park in 2017 and annually presents dozens of shows — including paid events that help drive revenue.
But this summer also serves up its bread-and-butter: free, all-ages shows, in some cases bilingual, from headlining acts such as Femi Kuti, Calexico, Black Uhuru, Los Amigos Invisibles, Blitzen Trapper, Mark Farina, Steep Canyon Rangers and more. Additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks, according to venue officials.
The 18,000-capacity venue last year reasserted itself after a quiet 2020 with dozens of free shows from across genres, and paid concerts from headliners such as John Legend. Levitt’s series complements other free, high-quality concert series from organizations such as City Park Jazz, which produces the long-running Jazz in the Park.

“After experiencing a year without live music in 2020, then an extremely arduous but gratifying comeback season in 2021, we are thrilled to enter our fifth season of providing family-friendly outdoor concerts where our friends and neighbors can reconnect,” said executive director and founder Chris Zacher in a press statement. “With the tenuous economic situation our country is facing, free all-ages concerts are an essential meeting ground for our community to come together free of financial barriers.”
Most Levitt concerts begin at 5 or 6 p.m. (likely the latter) and typically run until about 10 p.m. Bring blankets, chairs and snacks. All shows below are free and all-ages unless otherwise noted.
On-site parking is available, although the lot fills up quickly and cars end up lining the road (a la Red Rocks Amphitheatre parking). VIP upgrades are also available for the donation-based organization, which is raising $25,000 to cover expenses for this concert season.
All tickets must be purchased or, in the case of free shows, reserved via an online RSVP. Visit levittdenver.org for more information.
