Leomie Anderson replaces Love Island’s Maya Jama as new host of BBC’s Glow Up
This week, it was reported that the 28-year-old had left the make-up comepetition, which she joined as presenter in 2021, following Stacey Dooley’s two-season stint.
It’s now been revealed that supermodel Leomie, 29, will become the third person to front Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star, and she couldn’t be more excited for the new venture.
‘I am so excited to be joining Glow Up as the host as it’s such an incredible show! I have always been a huge fan and admire all the MUAs work who have been in there previously so to see it in real life is amazing!’ she said.
‘I can’t wait to work alongside the fabulous Val and Dom in a completely new territory too outside of modelling and get truly stuck in!’
Leomie, who’s modelled for brands including Giorgio Armani, Burberry and Oscar de la Renta, will make her debut when the fifth series airs later this year.
BBC Three controller Fiona Campbell expressed her admiration for Maya, saying she would ‘always be a part of the family’ at Glow Up.
‘I am thrilled that Leomie Anderson will be taking the reins as the new host of Glow Up. With her flair for modelling and fashion, I can’t wait to see her expertise in action!’ she said.
‘I also would like to thank our previous host the magnificent Maya Jama, we will miss her of course but she will always be a part of the Glow Up family.’
The fifth series of the show, which is due to return to BBC Three later this year, will see makeup artist Val Garland and global senior artist at Mac Cosmetics UK Dominic Skinner return as judges.
The news of Maya’s departure from Glow Up came following the beginning of her tenure as the new host of Love Island, which was announced last October.
When the news emerged that she would be taking over the position from Laura Whitmore, she said in a statement: ‘I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows!
‘I can’t wait to get into the villa to meet all of the islanders.’
The first four series of Glow Up are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
