Legoland creates mini version of King Charles’ coronation
Legoland has unveiled a miniature coronation tableau, depicting Buckingham Palace, a gold coach representing the King’s journey down the Mall, and the Windsor Castle concert complete with an orchestra and the royal family watching the show.
There’s even a miniature King and Queen Consort standing on the balcony of a Lego Buckingham Palace.
The whole thing took over 1,000 hours to make ahead of the big event next week.
Paula Laughton, the chief model maker at Legoland Windsor, said: ‘We had six model makers building, and it took about 32,000 Lego pieces overall.
‘The bit we are most proud of is really the concert area because there is a lot of detail, and to build violins and flutes is quite a task.’
The model makers also created Lego versions of the performers taking part in the coronation concert, including Take That, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie.

And watching the show from the mini Royal Box are models of the Prince and Princess of Wales along with their three children.
‘It’s always a joy to be able to recreate iconic moments in British history in Lego form, so we couldn’t miss the chance to mark this once-in-a-generation moment to recreate a coronation in miniature,’ said Paula.
‘The connection between Windsor and the royal family is as strong as ever and we look forward to welcoming guests from across the UK and overseas to the resort who we have no doubt will enjoy catching a glimpse of our new King and Queen.’
If you want to see the scene yourself, Legoland Windsor’s Miniland attraction will keep it all up until November.
