Legendary Malayalam actor Innocent passes away at 75
Popular Malayalam film actor Innocent passed away at 75 in a hospital in Kochi on Sunday after being hospitalised earlier this month.
As per reports, the actor was infected with Covid and had respiratory issues along with multiple organ failures resulting in heart failure. The hospital authorities also stated that the actor was on cardiopulmonary (ECOMO) support, wherein a patient’s blood is pumped and oxygenated outside the body using a machine.

In addition to being an actor, Innocent was a former member of parliament for the Chalakudy LS constituency and a former president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), a guild of Malayalam artists for 12 consecutive years.
Innocent, an actor best known for his humorous roles, showed that he was a master at handling comedy and had also successfully stirred up emotions in the viewers with his outstanding performances in a number of drama films.

Innocent made his debut in Malayalam cinema in 1972 with the AB Raj-helmed movie Nrityashala. With a career of over four decades and 500 films, Innocent slalomed into every Malayali moviegoer’s heart. His well-known films include Ramji Rao Speaking, Mannar Mathai Speaking, Kilukkam, Godfather, Vietnam Colony, Kabooliwaala, Gajakesariyogam, Mithunam, Mazhavilkavadi, Manassinakkare, Thuruppugulan, Rasathanthram, Naran and more.
The actor was most recently seen in the film Kaduva, where he portrayed Fr. Vattassheril. In one of his last roles, the actor will be featured in the upcoming Fahadh Faasil film Paachuvum Athbhuthavilakkum.
