LeBron James raises retirement alarm bells after Lakers gets swept in playoffs
LeBron James has confirmed that he will spend the next few months pondering whether he wants to retire from the NBA before the start of next season after the Los Angeles Lakers were knocked out of the playoffs. The Lakers were up against in the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets having lost the first three games.
James did everything he could to force a Game 5 with a record-breaking 40-point performance. But he was unable to lead his side to victory with the Nuggets coming out on top 113-111 on Monday night.
The result brought another end to James’ search for his fifth NBA title for another year. This was the season that saw James pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the all-time leading scorer in NBA history.
But it’s ultimately titles where James wants to be judged and there was clear disappointment from the NBA legend in the immediate aftermath of Monday night’s defeat.
