Lea Michele ‘breaks down’ as toddler son back in hospital

Lea Michele, 36, revealed earlier this week that her two-year-old son Ever, who she shares with her husband of four years Zandy Reich, had returned to hospital two weeks after his first health scare.

Sharing a snap of her little one in his crib with her 7.9 million followers on Instagram, Lea revealed that Ever had returned home but opened up on her parenting struggles amid his health woes.

She wrote alongside the picture, using a white heart emoji to block out her son’s face: “Today was a hard day.

“As parents we have to be strong for our kids. But sometimes you just want to break down and cry (Hidden in the bathroom or closet is usually the best. Today I chose the hospital bathroom).

“These hard times show you truly what matters and is important in life and how much we have to be grateful for.

“It’s been hard to say the least but our boy is such a champ and is going to be ok. But it still hurts.”

On Wednesday, Michele shared a touching moment, between her show Funny Girl, as she gave her son a cuddle writing: “Ran to give my baby a quick hug at home in between shows. It was quick but worth it.”

The Glee alumni was forced to pull out of a few performances of the Broadway show in March when her son first fell ill, although she did not reveal what he was battling in particular.

She shared a snap on Instagram explaining to her adoring fans: “I’m so sorry but unfortunately I will be out of Funny Girl today.

“We are at the hospital with our son dealing with a scary health issue that I need to be here for.”

She returned to the stage in late March but noted that although she was “happy to be back”, her son is “still not out of the woods”.

The Scream Queens actress has starred in Funny Girl as the iconic Fanny Brice since September last year and will be closing the show in five months’ time.
