Latest travel restrictions for Ibiza, Tenerife, Corfu, Madeira and Crete

It’s that time of year when temperatures plummet across the capital during the run-up to Christmas.

A number of Londoners may be keen to try and jet away somewhere warmer before Christmas begins and soak up as much sun as they can.

However, all travellers are advised to check up on the latest travel restrictions before booking their getaway.

Here is all the advice you need if you’re hoping for a Mediterranean island holiday over the next few months.

Ibiza, Mallorca and Tenerife

At present, the Spanish government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK, including to its islands, to present on entry a Health Control Form and either a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination.

However, as of tomorrow (December 1), the Spanish government will require all arrivals to Spain from the UK to present proof of vaccination.

This rule will exclude children under the age of 12 years old.

Another key detail for travel to Spanish islands is that certificates of recovery – a medical document certifying that you have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months prior to travel – are not currently accepted for arrivals from the UK.

It’s essential you’re up-to-date with the latest travel requirements if you plan on going abroad

The requirements apply to all travellers over the age of 12.

Madeira

Travelling to Madeira from the UK has its own unique set of guidelines separate from travel to mainland Portugal.

Before you travel to Madeira and Porto Santo you must complete and submit a traveller questionnaire .
