James Corden has officially bid farewell to the Late Late Show, but executive producer Ben Winston hopes one segment will remain popular.

The talk show host’s programme came to an end on Thursday April 27, but went out with a gang with a whole host of celebrity guests including Harry Styles and Will Ferrell.

Fans have witnessed the Gavin and Stacey actor, 44, welcoming Hollywood’s elite on his iconic Carpool Karaoke segment in the last eight years, from the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Michelle Obama, Britney Spears and many more.

And global megastar Adele, 34, was the last artist to cruise the streets of Los Angeles with the presenter.

Despite James being a no-show in future cameos, producer Ben revealed fans are in for a treat at what’s to come.

When asked if he hoped the show would still be a hit without the Late Late Show frontman, he told Metro.co.uk: ‘I really hope so.’

Speaking about the Apple TV Plus spin-off, which usually sees two celebrities, aka duos we never knew we needed, singing along to timeless classics, he added: ‘I love making that show over on [Apple] and we’re launching another season.

‘We’ve done about 60 episodes, so six seasons, we launched a new season coming up….Brian Cox from Succession has done one with Alan Cumming and there are some major stars coming. I hope people that haven’t watched the Apple Carpool series will go check it out.’

Stranger Things

He continued: ‘Like Snoop Dogg doing it with Matthew McConaughey, Jason Sudeikis has done it with the Muppets. It’s worth watching that!

‘There’s been such amazing people that have done that show, I’m really excited for it continuing and I hope it does for many years.’

Ben recently revealed that the Late Late Show team was close to bagging the one and only Beyonce on the hit segment.

‘We were close at one time and we thought it was going to happen and we were going to do it, and then dates changed and it didn’t end up happening,’ he said.

‘She doesn’t do very much publicly, so it was going to be a tough one, so she’s the one that got away.’

The Late Late Show with James Corden continues its final week on CBS.
