Large cordon in place after pedestrian ‘hit by car’ on main road in Oldham
A large cordon is in place on a major road in Oldham after a person was reportedly hit by a car.
Oldham Way is shut off westbound between Cross Street and Prince Street.
A large emergency services presence remains at the scene, which is close to Oldham town centre.
It is thought that the road was closed shortly after 8pm this evening, February 2.

The M.E.N understands that the collision involved a pedestrian and a silver Vauxhall Corsa, which stopped at the scene.
Traffic police have since left the scene, as the Serious Collision Unit continues to investigate.
A witness said that there were ‘around five’ police cars also in attendance.
“It seems like a car has gone through the crossing at the junction of Prince Street and that is where they have hit the person,” they said.
Further details of the incident and the condition of the person who was reportedly hit is not yet known.
Oldham Way remains open on the Eastbound carriageway.
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for more information.
