Lampard sent Boreham Wood boss Garrard touching message ahead of FA Cup clash
FRANK LAMPARD showed great class after it emerged he sent Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard a touching text message.
The text arrived after the non-league side defeated Bournemouth last month to set-up an FA Cup Fifth Round trip to Everton.
Salomon Rondon’s two second-half goals ended their fairytale run in the competition at Goodison Park last night.
But Sun Sport revealed before the match that Garrard had received the text from the ex-Chelsea and England star Lamps once the draw had been made.
Now Garrard has revealed exactly what the Everton manager said with his message out of the blue.
It read: “Hi Luke, Frank Lampard here. Just wanted to congratulate you on the result yesterday.
“Purely on a coach-to-coach level, I could see what it meant to you and that’s why we do the job!
“Some achievements from you and the lads. Don’t normally touch base like this before games but just wanted to say that I, and we as a club will make you all feel very welcome when you come to Goodison.

“Hopefully not too welcome when the game starts. Looking forward to seeing you. Frank.”
However, ITV’s cameras were able to capture a small segment of Garrard’s reply on his phone screen as he showed off the text.
That read: “Evening Frank, really appreciate the message, can’t thank you enough.
“It most definitely meant a lot to myself and the Club these moments are few and far between at our level.”
Everton now face Crystal Palace in the quarter finals after dumping brave Boreham Wood out.
