Lady Gaga, though having not appeared on the BBC soap, has befriended one of Albert Square’s longest-running characters.
After appearing on The Graham Norton show together in 2019, Lady Gaga and EastEnders icon June Brown became good friends.
June, 94, said on Loose Women that she and the Applause singer had hit it off from their first encounter with each other.
She said: “I just met her on The Graham Norton Show.
“I was last to come on, and she was so lovely. So respectful.
“Once I got on, we sort of took over the show. I was wondering if I should’ve sat on Graham’s lap.”
June played much loved EastEnders character Dot Cotton for a total of 35 years and announced she was leaving the show in 2020.
Despite the 59-year age gap between June and Gaga, they shared a glass of wine backstage at the show and the Dot Cotton actor made an impression as she was invited to a London nightclub by Gaga herself.
June was 92 when she and Gaga met but it wasn’t her age that put the iconic actress off the idea of going clubbing.
June said: ” Lady Gaga invited me to go to Annabels, unfortunately I was doing Piers Morgan the next day.
“I had to be early in the morning – and I thought to myself ‘I can’t go clubbing.'”
