Kyle’s fiance flashes $1.14m engagement ring

The radio shock jock confirmed the news on-air yesterday, after reports of their engagement surfaced over the weekend.

“I apologise to the women of the world, as I am officially off the market,” Sandliands said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

He said Kynaston, his partner of two years, had “no clue” the engagement was coming.

A video shared to the radio show’s social media channels showed that Sandilands spared no expense, hiring a venue and organising fireworks during a trip to Port Douglas.

The 50-year-old spared no expense when it came to Kynaston’s ring, either, with the beauty offering a closer look at the sparkler on social media.

The radio show shared a snap of the emerald-cut diamond, made by Sydney’s House of K’dor jewellers, to its Instagram this morning.

“Look at the rock the future Mrs Sandilands is sporting!!” the caption read.

Tobias Kormind, the managing director of Europe’s largest online diamond jeweller, 77 Diamonds, told the Daily Mail the ring would be “worth over $1.14 million for a decent quality diamond, at least F colour, VS1 clarity”.

Mr Kormind noted that a key feature of Kynaston’s ring is the split shank, which is a style featuring a band that separates as it reaches the centre setting.

“Split shank rings are relatively unusual …[they] are very elegant and actually are more secure,” he added.

Kynaston, 15 years his junior, had previously been Sandilands’ personal assistant when the couple shacked up in 2019.

The pair got together after Sandilands broke of an eight-year relationship with Imogen Anthony.

At the time, he told Mamamia the 19-year age gap was a contributing factor to their break up.

He said Anthony “went from a young girl into a woman” towards the end of their relationship. Sandilands first met Anthony when she was just 21.

“It’s not as if we couldn’t get on. It’s just I was going into my twilight years and she was just becoming a woman,” he explained.

“It was just one of those things that it was fun while it lasted and it was great, we enjoyed a lot of things about each other, but some of these things they come to an end sometimes,” he added.

It will be the second time Sandilands walks down the aisle, after his first wedding to Popstars singer Tamara Jaber in 2008.

The star-studded affair cost him more than $1 million and was attended by Bert Newton, Guy Sebastian, Brian McFadden and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

The couple split in July 2010.
