Knicks’ Josh Hart rocks Yankees-inspired haircut during playoffs at MSG
Josh Hart is already loving New York.
So much so, the Knicks wing designed his hair braids into the New York Yankees logo for the team’s first game in Madison Square Garden on Friday night during this year’s playoff run.
After a trade deadline deal with the Portland Trail Blazers that brought him to the Big Apple, Hart quickly became a fan favorite and key part of Tom Thibideau’s rotation.
Hart, who has played for four teams in six seasons, has called New York the “perfect situation” and spoken out about wanting a long-term deal with the Knicks.
“I want a home. I want to find a home,” Hart, who scored 13 points off the bench in the Knicks’ 99-79 Game 3 win, said in February. “This is a place where I would love that home to be. On the court, there are so many things that align with my principles as a player and off the court just being around with friends and close to family. This would be an amazing spot. Hopefully they feel the same.”
The Knicks-Hart marriage was seemingly a match made in heaven from the get-go — the trade reunited Hart with his Villanova Wildcats teammate and best friend Jalen Brunson, who was ecstatic when he learned of the news.
He has made an impact with the Knicks through his defense and hustle — and he’s one of the top rebounding guards in the league, pulling in almost eight boards a game during the regular season.
Hart and the Knicks, how have a one-game series lead over the Cavaliers, will look to take a commanding 3-1 lead on Sunday. The game at Madison Square Garden will be televised at 1 p.m. on ABC.
