KISS final tour postponed after Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley test positive for COVID-19

KISS have embarked on their End of the Road final world tour after pandemic postponements. However, fans who’ve booked tickets will have to wait a little longer after both founding members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have tested positive for COVID-19. Paul was the first to contract coronavirus after an announcement made five days ago on KISS’ official social media pages.

The post read: “Tonight’s KISS show at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA is unfortunately postponed due to Paul Stanley testing positive for COVID. More information about show dates will be made available ASAP.  

“Everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated. The band and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to safeguard everyone as much as possible at each show and in between shows.

“The tour also has a COVID safety protocol officer on staff full-time that is ensuring everyone is closely following all CDC guidelines.”

At the time, Paul reassured fans tweeting: “PEOPLE!!! I am fine! I am not in ICU! My heart allows me to do 26 miles a day on my bike!”

The affected shows are Clarkston, Michigan today, Dayton, Ohio tomorrow, Tinley Park, Illinois on September 4 and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 5. KISS are due to perform in the UK on June 10, 2022, headlining one of the nights at Download Festival in Donington, England.

Back in July, Paul asserted that a reunion with the original KISS line-up featuring Ace Frehley and Peter Criss was “impossible”

Speaking on Sirius XM’s Jim & Sam Show, the 69-year-old said: “I think people yearn for something that is – I was gonna say ‘impractical.’ I would say impossible.

“It’s great to look back on, but it’s not that different than if you break up with somebody and years later you go, ‘Wow. Why did that happen? Let me go back.’ You go back and it’s not the same anymore. And you quickly realise, as we did, why it didn’t work out the first time. That’s why it didn’t work out the second time.”
