Kiray Celis spoke about the bashing she gets whenever she flaunts her bikini photos, saying she doesn’t let it affect her and is even “thankful” because it implies that people still know her.

The actress-comedian said this during an interview for “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday, May 26, after show host Abunda asked if she cares about those who do not appreciate her daring photos.

“Wala.

([No] because I don’t earn money by minding them. Besides, those who bash me are updated [with what’s happening in my life]. They wouldn’t bash me if they didn’t know me, so I’m thankful because they know me.)

Celis then turned emotional as she stressed how she can shrug off any criticism except when it is aimed at her family.

(When someone says unpleasant things about my family, I easily get hurt.)

(For instance, when I post sexy photos, they would say, “Maybe your mom did not teach you manners that’s why you act like that.” But for me, I was the one who posted it. My mom has nothing to do with it. That was my post, my account.)

Celis further talked about her mom whom the actress admires and looks up to, especially in terms of handling their family’s finances.

“Proud ako na mukhang pera talaga ‘yung mama ko,” she said, drawing laughter from people in the studio. (I’m proud that my mom is obsessed with money.)

(Mothers are obsessed with money because they are the ones who provide for the whole family. They handle the [budget] on food and rent. That’s why I look up to my mom when it comes to handling finances, because she has been efficient in providing for our family’s needs.)

Just recently, Celis surprised her mom with a whopping P1 million on her birthday. The “Goin’ Bulilit” alum disclosed that the money would be used for the construction of their new house which will be up for rent.  /ra
