King Charles’s affordable holiday destination
With summer just around the corner, it’s time to book a getaway. Britons looking for an affordable holiday with a royal touch might want to visit a Greek destination that’s reportedly one of King Charles III’s favourite hotspots.
The stunning Greek island of Corfu is thought to be one of the King’s favourite holiday destinations.
Charles once told a Greek paper: “Greece is in my blood and I have long had a fascination for her ancient culture and history.”
The new king has been photographed on the gorgeous island with Camilla and the pair have enjoyed summer holidays there.
Corfu is particularly special to King Charles as his father, the late Prince Philip, was born there.

In 2018, Charles celebrated the close relationship between the UK and Greece and said: “We are all Greeks.”
The King said that “our way of life” would never have “flourished” without Greece and celebrated the country as the “wellspring of Western civilisation”.
Charles and Camilla are thought to have stayed at the Rothschild villa in Kerasia when they visited Corfu.
The pair also reportedly toured the island on a yacht, a popular tourist activity and one of the best ways to admire the landscape.
Tourists looking for nightlife could venture to Kavos, which is popular with party-loving Britons.
Kavos is one of the cheapest areas to stay on the island but might not be suitable for families or couples.
British tourists can reach Corfu with direct flights leaving from many of the UK’s major airports.
Express.co.uk found direct return flights on Skyscanner for under £150 in July from Durham, London, Manchester and Bristol.
