King Charles wants grandkids to avoid his romantic ‘mistakes’: royal source

Getting married in the royal family can be a royal pain.

A new documentary has claimed that King Charles III hopes that his grandchildren will have the strength to tie the knot with their eventual true loves.

The 74-year-old monarch “is very keen that his grandchildren don’t make the mistakes that I think he feels he made,” according to University of St Andrews professor Chandrika Kaul, who was interviewed for the Channel 5 documentary “The Fab Five: The King’s Grandchildren.”

One of those so-called mistakes is “particularly when it came to matters of the heart.”

“What I think he wants to do is try and help these young grandchildren grow up in as normal a way as possible and create more fully rounded human beings who are unafraid of their emotions and who are able to have the confidence to marry whom they want,” said Kaul, the Mirror reported.

“And to have a happy, successful and fulfilled personal life.”

Charles is granddad to his son Prince William’s children: Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

He is also gramps to his younger son Prince Harry’s kids: Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 1.

Charles infamously had an on-again, off-again relationship with his current wife, Queen Camilla, throughout the decades.

The former prince of Wales was married to Princess Diana from 1981 until 1996 — and both parties had their own affairs during the courtship.

One former employee of the royal family was also featured in the special and gave some insight into the different personalities of Louis, Charlotte and George.

Queen Elizabeth’s ex-press secretary Ailsa Anderson specifically touched upon Charlotte’s aura, saying that she loves to be in the limelight.

“It appears to me that Princess Charlotte has no qualms at all about being in the spotlight on public events,” she said.

Simon Vigar, a royal correspondent for Channel 5, also explained that George was at one time “bossy,” though things may have changed. “Recently during public events, we’ve seen Charlotte taking charge and ordering George around,” he said.

The Prince of Wales’ three kids have been spending much more time in the public eye recently, as the trio took center stage for Charles’ coronation on May 6, during which they took on special roles.

Charlotte and Louis stood by William and their mom, Kate Middleton, in the front pew at Westminster Abbey, while George was one of Charles’ pages of honor.

The threesome also joined their parents on May 8 to participate in an initiative titled the Big Help Out.

The royals visited a UK Brownie troop with whom they had fun doing activities such as excavating, sanding wood and painting.
