Kim Kardashian’s incredible law career update sticks it to the naysayers
But on Tuesday, the 42-year-old Skims founder shared some seriously impressive news about her law journey and said she’d ‘be done’ with studying within the year.
Speaking to Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday’s Today show, mum-of-four Kim shared the incredible results of her most recent exam.
‘I’m still studying. I’m actually in constitutional law 1 and 2 right now. It’s my toughest; [I’m] not the biggest fan of it, I’ve been sharing my struggle,’ Kim began.
‘But with that said, I took a midterm yesterday. I got 100% and then I got a 95% on my other midterm,’ she added. Way to go, Kim!
The Kardashians star went on: ‘So that gives me that boost of confidence again just to push through.’
As for when she’ll take the bar exam? ‘Hopefully, in the next year or so, I can take the official bar and be done.’
Just last month Kim revealed she’d be totally fine giving up her showbiz career to be a lawyer full-time.
The reality star was speaking at the Time100 Summit in April when she was asked whether she’d ‘consider a life without being in the camera’s eye’.
Addressing her future in the criminal justice system, Kim replied: ‘I would be just as happy being an attorney full time.’
‘The journey just really opened up my eyes so much,’ she added.
Kim also revealed that she even jokes about quitting showbiz in favour of life as a lawyer, telling those in attendance: ‘I always joke with my mum — who’s my manager — I say, “Kim K. is retiring, and I’m just going to be an attorney”.’
Of course, the passion for criminal law runs in Kim’s family as her father, Robert Kardashian Sr, was one of OJ Simpson’s attorneys in his 1995 double murder trial.
Her move into reform work started back in 2017 when Kim started campaigning for Alice Marie Johnson’s release from prison.
Alice, 67, spent 21 years in prison after being convicted in 1996 for her involvement in a drug trafficking operation and thanks to Kim’s help was pardoned in 2018.
Then, in 2019, Kim confirmed in an interview with Vogue that she was studying to become a criminal justice lawyer.
