Kim Kardashian dropped a huge bombshell on her famous family in the latest episode of their Hulu series, leaving them all truly stunned.
In last week’s preview, the 42-year-old could be seen teasing some ‘very important news’ as she caught up with siblings Kylie Jenner, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian and momager Kris Jenner.
At the very end of the new instalment, she excitedly revealed that she had an announcement to share with them all – but it didn’t quite go down how she expected.
Kylie immediately went to an extreme, questioning whether the Skims mogul was pregnant, to which she quipped: ‘No, by who? The 500 people I’m dating?’
‘An executive from Disney called me,’ she continued, before addressing her momager. ‘Rob Mills… You know these people but they wanted to call me directly, and I was going to connect them with you once I decided if I was going to do it or not…
‘I’m going to do the show, The Bachelorette. I’m going to be the Bachelorette!’
The news went down like a lead balloon with her family, who were stunned into a rare silence.’
‘Kim, 100% you’re not doing that,’ Khloe replied. ‘You’re going to be stuck in a house with 20 strange men that you have to make out with on camera? Are you okay?!’
‘I’m so serious,’ she insisted. ‘They’re going to do it in Malibu, that’s so close by!’
‘I’ve thought this through, and I thought it was so much fun.’
Unpacking the idea in a confessional, the Good American designer suggested that her sister would struggle on the program as she ‘doesn’t know how to be drunk’, and would be lost without her glam team.
She admitted that the idea of the mom-of-four ‘kissing 20 men’ sounded ‘gross’.
Kris wasn’t sold on the idea either, telling the camera: ‘Nope. I’m your momager, manager, mother, name a title. I’ll put any hat on that you want, but you’re not doing it.
‘I watch the show, I love the show, but did I want my daughter on the show? Oh, hell no!’
Having precisely none of it, she got straight on the phone to Rob, who serves as the executive vice president of unscripted & alternative entertainment for Disney.
He seemed delighted by the coup and explained that they were ‘probably 90% there’ in terms of the contract negotiations, an update that left Kris scrambling.
‘I just need to wrap my head around something like this because this isn’t exactly the space I saw Kim in,’ she replied. ‘She does have four kids and a big, busy life.’
Kim waited until she was off the phone before putting everyone out of their misery, yelling: ‘I’m kidding, it was a prank! The head of Disney was in on it!’
Sadly, we won’t be seeing the Kardashians on the TV dating scene any time soon but there’s always the upcoming series of Love Island USA…
