Kim Kardashian says she’s divorcing Kanye West due to his ‘personality’ in savage SNL quip
World-famous celebrity Kim Kardashian West, 40, hosted an episode of US comedy show Saturday Night Live last night, where she surprised viewers with an opening monologue that pulled no punches. The star didn’t hold back as she quipped openly about her sex tape, O.J. Simpson, her plastic surgery – and even admitted that she filed for divorce from ex-husband Kanye, 44, because of his “personality”.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star received a positive reception from SNL viewers on Saturday night after a refreshingly honest monologue that poked fun at her family and herself.
One particularly biting comment that she made was towards her ex-husband Kanye.
“I married the best rapper of all time,” she began.
“Not only that – he’s the richest black man in America.

“A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids.
“So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing – his personality.”
Kim admitted that the jibe “sounded mean” but insisted that she was striving to “be honest” – a tactic that earned a lot of laughs from the crowd.
The reality star filed for divorce from Kanye in February 2021 after 7 years of marriage, and the pair will share joint custody of their four children.
The star then made another savage reference about Kanye and step-parent Caitlyn Jenner, who ran unsuccessfully for the Governor of California this year.
“I’m not running for president. We can’t have three failed politicians in one family,” she said.
Kanye West caused confusion by announcing he was running for president last year in the midst of a very public mental health battle.
Kim was also very candid in relation to her own past, opening the monologue with a reference to her infamous sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J from 2002.
“I haven’t had a movie premiere in a really long time,” she joked.
“I mean actually I only had that one movie come out and no one even told me it was premiering.”
She also made a reference to her late father Rob Kardashian’s defence of O.J.Simpson.
“I know it’s sort of weird to remember the first black person you met but O.J. does leave a mark – or several – or none at all. I still don’t know!”
Kim even made light of all the plastic surgery that the Kardashians are often associated with.
“Basically, I’m just so much more than that reference photo my sisters showed their plastic surgeons,” she teased, earning her one of the biggest laughs of the night.
