Kid Cudi has hit back at his former friend Kanye West who axed the rapper from Donda 2 simply over his friendship with Pete Davidson.
It’s no secret that Kanye, 44, isn’t a huge fan of Pete, 28, due to the Saturday Night Live comedian striking up a romance with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
Well bizarrely, Kid Cudi has been dragged into the messy love triangle with Kanye dramatically dropping the Day N Nite rapper from the upcoming sequel to his 2021 album Donda.
Announcing the line-up change, Kanye wrote in a handwritten note shared on Instagram on Saturday: ‘Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who. We all speak in Billie language now.’
Kanye has since followed that up in a new post, stating: ‘I just wanted my friend to have my back the knife just goes in deeper.’
The Gold Digger rapper later shared a mock-up of an Avengers: Civil War poster with his and Pete’s face on either side and the tagline: ‘United we stand. Divided we fall.’ The celebrities on Kanye’s side are his new girlfriend Julia Fox, Drake, Travis Scott and Future, while Pete has Kim, Kid Cudi, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift on his team – naturally, everyone Kanye’s had a public falling out with of epic proportions.
Kid Cudi, 38, reportedly fired back at Kanye’s comments, writing under a now-deleted post: ‘”Too bad I don’t wanna be on ur album u….. dinosaur. hahah.
‘Everyone knows ive been the best thing about ur albums since I met u. ima pray for u brother.’
The rapper continued over on Twitter and wrote: ‘We talked weeks ago about this. You’re whack for flipping the script and posting this lie just for a look on the internet. You ain’t no friend. BYE.’
‘Oh man im too blessed,’ he added.
The extent of Kanye’s dislike for Pete can reportedly be heard on Alicia Keys’ new song, City Of Gods, on which he raps: ‘This afternoon, a hundred goons pullin’ up to SNL.
‘When I pull up, it’s dead on arrival. They act like they love you. They don’t even like you.’
Kanye has publicly declared that he wants to reconcile with estranged wife Kim, who filed for divorce in February 2021 after six of marriage to the rapper. She is believed to have begun dating Pete in October after appearing as a guest host on the sketch show.
Last week, Kanye also fell out with singer Billie Eilish after demanding an apology from her, believing she ‘threw shade’ at Travis Scott over the Astroworld tragedy which she denied.
