KGF actor Yash responds to comparisons with Amitabh Bachchan, saying ‘Essence is the same’

The Yash starrer period action film KGF: Chapter 2 is all set to release on the 14th of April. The movie has had historic advance booking trends, collecting more than Rs. 20 crores with just the advance booking sales. It is highly likely that KGF: Chapter 2 will cross the opening day of SS Rajamouli’s RRR. The movie highlights Kolar Gold Fields, and the anti-hero Rocky, who must achieve unchallenged supremacy.

The movie has been compared to Bollywood movies that starred Amitabh Bachchan in the ’70s and ’80s. The angry young man roles of the actor especially in Deewar, Shakti, and Agneepath are much similar to that of Yash. In a recent interview with the media, Yash addressed the comparisons.

In a recent interview with a leading daily, the actor said, “Remake pasand nahi hai personally (I don’t like remakes personally) and with Mr Bachchan, it’s better to not touch that. They are classics. Jo unka kaam hai (whatever his work is, I don’t think I would do anything).”

He continued to say how the essence of the movies are similar, “It’s the essence of the belief system, the hero and his heroism- that kind of film. It has nothing to do with any film but in general, the kind of films they used to make, the essence is the same, what the whole of India wants to see. At least, whoever I meet, they say they love those kinds of films.”

The movie will also be starring Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, and Srinidhi Shetty in lead roles.
