Do you know what £1,000 worth of fried chicken looks like?

Well, you might be able to find out if you’re lucky enough to find a KFC golden bucket – and walk away with a seriously tasty prize.

To celebrate the opening of 1,000 restaurants in the UK and Ireland, KFC is launching a Golden Bucket Hunt featuring prizes that chicken fans are going to love.

All you have to do to win is find one of the limited-edition Golden Buckets – but you will have to be very lucky. Only five of these boujee buckets are up for grabs across the UK and Ireland.

Inside you’ll find five special KFC cards which unlock access to prizes including 1,000 free visits to any KFC restaurant, £1,000 KFC voucher to spend at any branch on whatever you like, and a trip to Kentucky to visit the home of the man himself, Colonel Sanders.

To be in with a chance of winning, you have to head into one of five chosen KFC restaurants and use the codeword ‘1k Win’ at the counter. But you’ve got to be the first one to do it to win the bucket.

The catch is that we don’t know which are the five specially chosen restaurants – but it’s definitely worth trying your luck if you’re heading for a KFC in the next few days.

If it’s the right one and you’re the first person to say the codeword, you’ll instantly win one of the five prizes – and a free Bargain Bucket.

To get to you started, we can reveal that the chosen restaurants are hiding around South Lanarkshire, Dublin, Central London, Manchester and Pontyclun (Wales).

Happy hunting.
