Kew Gardens Christmas lights: When are they and how to get tickets
Over the coming weeks, most of us will be planning festive activities.
From visiting Santa to hot chocolate dates, there is much to do and enjoy.
One of the best jolly activities to appreciate is the Kew Gardens Christmas lights.
But when are they and how do you get tickets?
Kew is a royal botanic garden located in Richmond, London, that turns into a winter wonderland after dark.
The festivities take place from today, November 17 to Sunday, January 9 2022.
Tickets cost £21.50 off peak and £26.50 at peak for adults with family discounts also available.
Attendees can visit the gardens between 4pm and 10pm.
During this period, the winter trail at Kew Gardens lights up the dark skies and becomes truly magical.
‘Enjoy our annual after-dark festivities with family and friends, as you discover sparkling tunnels of light, dancing waterside reflections, and trees drenched in jewel-like colour on your way to the panoramic Palm House light display,’ the Kew website reads.
‘Journey through the mesmerising flickering flames in the Fire Garden, spot larger-than-life illuminations and say hello to Father Christmas along the way.’
Meanwhile, Kew Gardens is also filled with delicious food stalls and street food vendors. Expect spiced winter drinks, marshmallow toasting, hot chocolate and much more.
Visitors must select a slot upon booking with the last entry each evening at 8pm.
The trail is approximately 2.6km long in total and takes an estimated 75 minutes to complete. The route is designed to be viewed from the path but some interactive elements may invite the audience onto the grass.
Attendees are also advised to dress for the weather as there are no covered areas on the trail.
Early booking is advised as limited capacity is available and you can book tickets for the Kew Gardens Christmas lights through their website.
