Kerry Katona ‘crippled’ by insufferable pain as she speaks on health battle
Kerry Katona had been scheduled to hit the road and meet fans up and down the country as part of her No Regrets tour, however, due to suffering from a painful condition, she has had to postpone.
The Atomic Kitten star admitted it was not an easy decision to make and one that has left her feeling very “emotional”.
Kerry wrote in her New! Magazine column: “I had to make the decision to postpone my tour last week, which was so difficult.
“I hate saying no to work and letting people down. I was really battling with myself and getting emotional about it because I was so excited to see you all there.”
Kerry, 42, has previously been diagnosed with Scoliosis, a curvature of the spine, which has left her in severe pain for several years.
According to the NHS, it’s estimated that around three or four in every 1,000 children are suffering from Scoliosis, with the condition being more common in women than it is in men.
Kerry continued: “Ultimately, the doctor told me I needed complete rest and had to put my health first,” before adding that she will be taking time to ensure she is both mentally and physically prepared to be back on the stage.
The TV star previously opened up to the Mirror about her diagnosis and how she was left in tears due to the pain it inflicted upon her.
“I’ve lived with chronic pain for years, so to actually get a diagnosis and have a plan of action to try and give it treatment – I feel validated and cried because I was in so much pain,” she said.
The mum-of-five continued: “Yeah, it was crippling – I got fed up with hearing myself complain, I’m so used to my pain, I will carry on with it.
“I’m always busy and work and I’ve got the kids, I always put myself last.”
It comes as Kerry revealed she had “no regrets” on her previous marriage to Westlife star Brian McFadden, despite him cheating at his stag do.
Kerry told OK Magazine: “For me when I’ve been cheated on in the past, I’ve struggled to make it work because I knew I wouldn’t be able to fully trust them again.
“Saying that, I think people do make mistakes in relationships, and it’s possible to come back from it,” she added.
The two pop stars tied the knot in Ireland before a star-studded reception of 250 people including Dane Bowers and S Club 7.
Their lavish wedding was adorned with £6,500 worth of lilies and cost a reported £100,000 altogether.
But despite their beaming photos flogged to the glossy magazines, Brian and Kerry, who share two daughters together, were not happy at all.
Westlife star Brian later revealed he had only ever kissed one person before Kerry, and he had simply been “overwhelmed” by her love.
