Kerala HS Result 2023 (OUT): Pass percentage 82.95 is marginally lower than last year – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: The state higher secondary examination results announced here on Thursday recorded a pass percentage of 82.95, which is marginally lower compared to the 83.87 pass percentage in 2022.
Among the 376135 regular students who appeared for the higher secondary examination in March 2023, 312005 became eligible for higher studies. General education minister V Sivankutty announced the results here.
The result was calculated by taking into account the first- and second-year scores. Double valuation system was adopted for physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects. Result statistics reveal that of the 194511 girls who took the examination, 173731 (89.31%) became eligible for higher studies, while 138274 of the 181624 boys (76.13%) qualified for higher studies.
The stream wise calculations show that 87.31 % candidates in science stream cleared the course, while the pass percentage in humanities and commerce streams were 71.93 and 82.75 respectively. The pass percentage of students in SC, ST and OEC categories is 60.87 %, 57.17 % and 73.57 % respectively.
In the sector wise results, the Aided sector emerged top with 86.31% (out of 184844 candidates 159530 qualified for higher studies) followed by the Un Aided sector 82.70% (22355 candidates out of 27031 became eligible for higher studies) and in the Government sector the percentage of E.H.S is 79.19% (129905 candidates qualified for higher studies out of 164043). Special schools recorded 99.31 pass percentage with 294 of the total 296 candidates becoming eligible for higher studies.
As many as 33815 students secured A+ grade in all subjects. Out of this 26001 are girls and 7814 are boys. 24849 students from science combination, 3172 students from humanities combination and 5794 students from commerce combination won A+ for all subjects. While 71 students secured a full score 1200/1200. As many as 41511 students got A grade or above. Eligibility for higher studies is D+ or above grade for all subjects with 30% scores in theory alone and an aggregate total of 30% in theory, practical evaluation and continuous evaluation taken together.
The highest pass percentage was recorded in Ernakulam ( 87.55 %) and the lowest in Pathanamthitta ( 76.59%.). Higher number of students took the examination in St. Mary’s HSS Pattom. 838 candidates appeared for the exam from this school, and it clinched a pass percentage of 85.32%. Malappuram district topped in the list of all A+ holders with a total of 4897 candidates achieving the feat.
The last date for submitting applications for revaluation, photocopy and scrutiny of answers papers is 31/5/2023. SAY/improvement exams would be held from June 21.
