Keir Starmer handwriting: Labour leader is ‘trying to appear more interesting than he is’

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer delivers a performance at the Dispatch Box each week to demonstrate his potential as a future Prime Minister. However statesmanly a dressing-down Mr Starmer gives Boris, according to leading handwriting expert Tracey Trussell, his signature revealed more about his private persona, and the public personality he attempted to portray.

Tracey Trussell is an expert in handwriting who has built her career analysing the strokes of a pen that reveal intimate details about the person scribing the note or signing their name.

Tracey said: “A piece of handwriting is a snapshot of the moment revealing the writer’s core personality, fluid behaviour, fleeting emotions, thinking patterns, underlying anxieties and stress levels, proclivities, skillsets, motivation and potential, and so much more…

“Sometimes I think it would be easier to tell what handwriting doesn’t uncover!”

Tracey cast her expert eye over samples of the Labour leader’s signature on official letters from his office, and analysed what these revealed about the man who wants to be Prime Minister.

Following Mr Starmer’s calls for Boris Johnson to resign last week, how does Tracey think he would fare in the top job?

Tracey said: “Starmer’s signature gives the impression of someone who is fearful and insecure; so one wonders how he would potentially cope with pressures put upon him.”

In addition, details of Mr Starmer’s penmanship on another note analysed by Tracey suggested he would not welcome intense scrutiny into his personal life.

Tracey said: “The wide spacing between his words ‘All best wishes’ certainly reinforces his need for personal space and privacy.

“Starmer won’t appreciate any intrusion in his life and he’s likely to withhold emotion at times that may be considered inappropriate.”

Describing her approach to analysing handwriting, and how she’s able to build a picture of the person holding the pen, Tracey said: “The thing is, when we write, there is a complex interaction going on between the eye, the brain (hence, the central nervous system) and the hand.

“The pen we hold is merely the conduit – so, what you are getting is the unique pattern of the writer’s whole psychological profile expressed in symbols on the page.

“As a graphologist, I am the one who can decode these symbols.

“I’m looking for the quirks of script, based on the premise that everyone was prescribed the same way of handwriting in school and yet few people continue to write that way.

“It’s all those little deviations from the way we were taught that add up to reveal the writer’s personality.”

Tracey Trussell’s debut book Life Lines: What Your Handwriting Says About You published by Unicorn comes out on 22 March and is available for pre-order on Amazon, Waterstones and from local bookshops.
