KBL: Anyang cruises to 10th straight win amid slow night from Rhenz Abando
MANILA, Philippines—Rhenz Abando’s Anyang KGC hiked its winning streak to 10 after defeating Jeonju KCC Egis, 88-79, in the Korean Basketball League at Anyang Indoor Gymnasium.
Still playing limited minutes, Abando was only utilized for 10 minutes and ended up with three points and two rebounds.
Byun Joon-Hyung was the star of KGC with 26 markers to help Anyang keep its solo spot atop the ladder at 33-11.
The LG Sakers, meanwhile, also notched a win over the Goyang Carrot Jumpers, 85-68, at Changwon Gymnasium.
But Justin Gutang was barely used, playing only two minutes and finishing with two markers and an assist.
Former NBA player Dante Cunningham spearheaded the Changwon victory with 16 markers and 11 boards. LG Sakers remained at second seed with 28 wins and 15 losses.
On Thursday, RJ Abarrientos got the better of SJ Belangel as the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus outlasted the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus, 84-77, at Inchon Gymnasium.
As a starter, Abarrientos finished with nine points, two assists and two steals as Ulsan improved to 25-17 to tie with the Seoul SK Knights in the third seed.
Belangel had a much more silent night, playing for only 15 minutes. The former Ateneo standout ended with two points, three rebounds and two assists for the Pegasus, who remained at ninth seed with a 13-28 card.
