The former Love Island star, 32, has hit back after a source claiming to be close to Katie, 43, reportedly told The Sun that their engagement may be called off.
A source told the outlet that their relationship is ‘on the rocks’ thanks to the pressure over recent months, and that the pair have been ‘arguing non-stop for months’.
‘Carl has struggled in the spotlight after being bombarded with hateful messages on Instagram – Katie was even forced to insist publicly that he didn’t hit her after her alleged assault to try to make the trolls stop,’ the source said.
The source also cited Katie’s horror accident where she broke both her feet in 2020, leaving her in a wheelchair, as well as her bankruptcy worries and allegations of rape made against her ex, Kieran Hayler – which he denies – as reasons the couple were having issues – however Carl has flatly denied the rumours.
In response to a query from Metro.co.uk, a representative for Carl said: ‘Carl is happy to comment in regards to the fake news that has been published.
‘Carl is very happy with Katie and they are very excited for their future.’
They went on to say that the star is ‘in a great mindset’ and is focusing on his training ahead of his MMA fight this May, with Dapper Laughs and other celebrities taking part.
Katie and Carl were engaged in April 2021 and recently teased fans with a trip to Vegas, where they acquired a marriage license – but it ended up being a stunt for Katie’s YouTube series.
Katie spoke about her marriage plans at the beginning of this month, where she confirmed she would marry Carl in the UK rather than abroad, so her terminally ill mother, Amy, can attend.
She revealed on Good Morning Britain that her wedding ‘always will be in England, because obviously the family is there and my mum is terminally ill and can’t travel, adding: ‘I’d never get married unless my mum was there as well.’
Katie’s upcoming nuptials to Carl will be his first marriage and her fourth, with this also having been her eighth engagement.
Katie was previously married to Peter Andre from 2005 until 2009, with whom she shares Junior, 16, and Princess, 14.
She married Alex Reid in 2010 in Las Vegas and the pair later divorced in 2012. Katie was then married to Kieran from 2013 until their divorce was finalised in 2021, and the pair share Jett, eight, and Bunny, seven.
Katie also has son Harvey Price, 19, from her former relationship with Dwight Yorke.
