Cops are said to have seized Katie Price’s ex-husband’s air rifle after he was arrested earlier this week, reports claim.
The personal trainer, 36, was taken into police custody on Friday on suspicion of possessing a firearm and child neglect.
According to The Sun, Sussex Police officers attended his semi-detached property at 4pm and took him into custody where he was then questioned and later freed.
A source said: ‘Kieran’s air rifle was taken as is standard procedure in an investigation like this.
‘Police were acting on claims made over a week ago.’
A spokesperson for the reality star told the publication: ‘Kieran’s air rifle is perfectly legal — he is confident he has not done anything wrong.
‘He is a good, gentle person who wouldn’t hurt anyone, so news of his arrest was a shock. Sadly, there is malicious intent by the people behind it. But he is looking forward to clearing his name.’
In a statement issued to The Mirror, Sussex Police confirmed Hayler’s arrest, stating: ‘A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and child neglect.
‘He has been taken into custody for questioning.’ The force refused to issue further comment.
Despite his rumoured legal woes, however, Hayler appeared in high spirits on Sunday in his first sighting since the news broke.
The PT flashed a thumbs up to cameras while leaving his home with partner Michelle Penticost, 40, and their baby son Apollo, 20 months, as well as her son Valentino, 12, from a previous relationship.
Hayler was previously married to glamour model Katie for five years, and the pair share two children; Jett, nine, and Bunny, eight.
