Kate Middleton stuns in Catherine Walker coat for King’s Scottish Coronation
Another Coronation means another stunning fashion moment for Kate Middleton – and she never disappoints.
The Princess of Wales attended the ceremony in Edinburgh today, wearing Saltire blue in a Catherine Walker coatdress.
The wool crepe piece is the same one she donned for the Commonwealth Day service in 2022, featuring lightly padded shoulders and a statement velvet shawl collar and diagonal pockets at the flared waist.
The customised version of the designer’s Mayfair coat in sapphire also made an appearance at this year’s Easter Sunday Service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, where Kate once again opted for vibrant complimentary headwear.
The Scottish Coronation is a key part of Scotland’s Royal Week.
King Charles was presented with the Honours of Scotland – the oldest crown jewels in Britain, and a people’s procession of about 100 community groups made their way down the Royal Mile starting from Edinburgh Castle.
Kate’s look was in-keeping with the traditional red, white and blue colour scheme she often chooses for grand royal events – the blue ensemble a not-so-subtle nod to the Scottish backdrop of the day.
She accessorised with a hat in matching satin by milliner to the stars, Philip Treacy, – who has created bespoke hats and headpieces for Kate in the past – along with pearl drop earrings and a diamond and Japanese pearl choker.
As for shoes, the Princess opted for cobalt Rebecca Courts by Emmy London, a favourite brand of hers, and she carried a scallop-edge blue clutch believed to be by Anya Hindmarch that finished the outfit off perfectly.
Back in May, for the King’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey, Kate wore a white Alexander McQueen silk dress.
The ivory gown featured stunning embroidery at the bottom of the hem, which peeked through under her formal blue robe.
Alexander McQueen seems to be a favourite designer for Kate when she wants to wow the crowd, as she wore McQueen pieces to both the Coronation Concert and, more recently, to Royal Ascot.
