Kate Middleton isn’t ‘actively friendly’ to Meghan Markle
As the two couples headed towards their cars after an afternoon of speaking to fans near Windsor Castle on Saturday, September 10, they seemed to say goodbye to each other before turning to the crowds to bid farwell to them too. However, some fans claimed that Kate, Princess of Wales, ignored Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex and both women looked awkward as they faced each other.
The video of the four royals standing close to each other just before they said goodbye to fans has been circulating online, with some royal watchers claiming there was an obvious rift between Kate and Meghan.
But when body language expert Judi James analysed the clip, she said it seemed that it was Harry Kate had some issue with, not Meghan.
Judi told Express.co.uk: “Kate seems to be hanging back as Harry and Meghan stand waiting while William discusses the next moves with an organiser or PR.
“It is William who beckons his wife to join the group for a photo, and when she does the real interest might be the lack of eye contact or engagement between her and Harry.
“Kate and Harry had always been very close, even when Harry and William were at loggerheads, so this looks even sadder than anything between Kate and Meghan.”
The body language expert continued: “It looks like another lack of social and actively friendly response from Kate to Meghan here, but the two women had arrived in the same car, suggesting they might have spoken earlier.”
This suggests that even though fans never saw Meghan and Kate speaking to each other during the events that followed the Queen’s death, including the funeral, the women might have conversed behind closed doors.
Judi went on to say that it was Kate who “engineered the conversation between William and Harry at Philip’s funeral, and it was Kate who was most active in the smiling and chatty poses on Christmas day [last year] at Balmoral to help quash rumours of a rift”.

“This outing though appeared to be William’s event and she seemed to make it very plain that he should take his turn at choreographing all the poses,” the body language expert added.
However, some royal fans were adamant that Kate had something against Meghan.
Twitter user @TheRealMissBev1 wrote: “Meghan started to reach her hand out to Kate and then pulled it back. Kate was clearly not going to reciprocate.”
User @jld_84 commented: “When William pulled her across she looked Meghan up and down with distain. She really does not like her.”
Anastasia said: “She copies all of Meghan’s looks and has the audacity to look at her this way.”
User @Newyork98874026 commented: “Just noticed that William had to literally pull Kate across to Harry and Meghan. Omg Kate. I am beginning to wonder why William never saws her affection.”
User @mhardison9 added: “I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about this. Kate never spoke to Meghan the entire time, just brutal.”
Other royal fans claimed that Kate seemed uncomfortable because she didn’t want to stand next to her husband.
User @chykimsanders wrote: “I was thinking she just didn’t want to stand beside William, they don’t seem to be on the best of terms.”
User @kays1984 defended Kate, saying: “Meghan bullied the Princess of Wales’ daughter and then went on to make up lies about her on global television. Kate is very justified in keeping her distance.”
User @Gealbhan1 didn’t see anything amiss with the interaction at all. They said: “Really? She was waiting to enter the car on that side.”
Marie Birkett added: “Never heard such a load of rubbish. Kate had turned to look at her no ice stare at all.”
Teresea Flannighan wrote: “What a load of c**p, they are in mourning and definitely haven’t time or thoughts of conflict at such a sad time, always people like you waiting to dissect the moment.”
