Kate Middleton is a vision in red and wows in Lotus Flower Tiara

Kate Middleton, 40, stepped out this evening in Buckingham Palace at a Diplomatic Reception hosted by King Charles. The Princess of Wales was a vision in red as she wowed in the Lotus Flower Tiara.

The Princess of Wales appeared to be wearing a Jenny Packham “Elodie” gown, which cost £10,300 on the website Green Bird Boutiques before selling out due to its popularity.

The dress is described as red, with a round neckline, long sleeves and is designed for a close fit. The dress is covered in floral motifs and also has a back hook closure.

The Lotus Flower Tiara, which was worn by Kate Middleton tonight, is a piece loved and previously worn by the Princess of Wales.

The tiara features a lotus design and is sometimes also referred to as The Papyrus Tiara. The first royal known to wear this tiara was the late Queen Mother.

It was made from a necklace that she received as a wedding gift in 1923. The necklace, which was made of diamonds and pearls and featured meander and festoon designs, was given to her by her husband, the future King George VI, who had purchased it from Garrard.

The Queen Mother wore the tiara in a series of portraits that were later used heavily in the publicity materials for the 1937 coronation.

Princess Margaret also frequently wore the sparkler. Margaret received the tiara from her mother in 1959, just before she married Antony Armstrong-Jones.

Along with the Poltimore, it became one of her most frequently worn tiaras.

Her daughter-in-law, Serena Stanhope, wore the tiara at her wedding to Viscount Linley, Margaret’s only son.

In December 2013, Kate Middleton surprised everyone by wearing the tiara at the annual diplomatic reception.

She also wore it in 2015 for a state banquet in honour of the President of China.

Kate also looked beautiful tonight wearing a pair of the late Queen Elizabeth’s diamond earrings, along with her GCVO and the Royal Family Order.
