Kate is ‘confident and compelling’ in boardroom – claims

The Princess of Wales was at the International Headquarters of Natwest and RBS in the English capital this week, on March 21. Kate hosted the inaugural meeting of her new Business Taskforce for Early Childhood.

Body language expert Judi James analysed Kate’s behaviour as she entered the Natwest building in central London and spoke to members of staff.

“Amazingly for someone who has led a rather detached royal lifestyle, Kate looks almost totally at home in this boardroom setting, surrounded by some of the biggest names in the City,” she said.

“Presenting or making a speech from a lectern to a sea of CEOs around a boardroom table is not for the faint-hearted and Kate had two options.

“Either she could illustrate the contrast in culture and experience by self-diminishing and over-smiling in an ingratiating display, or she could pack on the signals of control and confidence and position herself as one of them.”

Judi went on to claim that Kate did the latter – appearing to be confident and comfortable in the boardroom.

She said: “With only a couple of minor tells Kate seems to have opted for the status and confidence look here, posing among the big hitters as though fully and happily qualified to press her case.

“Her arrival seems to involve quite a wide, purposeful stride and business-like smile and her body language at the lectern looks compelling and full of confidence in her message.

“There is some very direct and engaging eye contact with her audience and even a widening of her lower lip as she speaks to suggest she is giving her words some extra emphasis.”

The Princess’ jacket was by iconic British designer Alexander McQueen, costing a whopping £1,490.

The garment was described as “light ivory” by the brand, which is different from Kate’s other white blazers.

The royal already owns the exact same jacket, but in light pink, which she donned for a public engagement last year.

She also has a white tailored blazer from Alexander McQueen, which she first wore during the March 2022 Caribbean tour.

Yesterday, Kate wore the light ivory McQueen blazer with a pair of slim, black trousers and matching black stilettos.

She donned a plain, cream t-shirt underneath her jacket and accessorised with a black, crocodile-print belt.

Royal fans commented on her outfit, with Instagram user @marchionessofconfessions writing: “A blazer is the perfect definition of a business meeting. Even so, I find it somewhat ‘strange’ (as she is very used to making these types of choices) that she has bought a new blazer in cream when she already has the same one but in white. Technically it would have worked just as well.”

User @limonelemons said: “Catherine can have as many blazers as she wants and she always looks amazing in them.”

Royal fan @sarah_o_kay added: “The well-tailored coat, the blowout, the skinny trousers and pumps! This is her style, she looks comfortable and confident and she looks good in it.”
