Kate Garraway confirms Caitlyn Jenner quit I’m A Celeb group chat on the plane
Kate Garraway revealed that Caitlyn Jenner wasted no time in leaving the I’m A Celebrity group chat.
The former Olympic athlete and reality star surprised fans when she appeared on the 2019 series of the ITV show alongside stars including James Haskell, Roman Kemp, and Queen of the jungle Jacqueline Jossa.
Despite the campmates forming a strong bond during their gruelling stint on the show, the Good Morning Britain presenter explained that Caitlyn removed herself from the group chat as soon as the show wrapped.
‘Caitlyn Jenner, I mean we all wanted to travel with her. But she, literally as the plane took off, removed herself from the WhatsApp group.’ she said.
Savage!
Kate added: ‘She did give her number out to various people to be fair, but she obviously felt like she didn’t want to be part of the…
‘You know what WhatsApp is like, it tells you doesn’t it? It’s not like somebody can sneak out, it’s like you are no longer part of this group. You are out! Like, did she go? Hang on a minute, she’s just taken off! Ha-ha.’
In 2020, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said that she was heartbroken over the ‘tragedy’ of Kate’s husband Derek Draper being hospitalised after contracting Covid-19.
She explained to Daily Star Online: ‘Kate, when she came home, her husband and coronavirus – it’s been a tragedy.’
‘I talked to her the other day and as soon as we got on the phone, that voice of hers, I was like “oh my God, that voice of hers, it has a familiarity”,’ she continued.
The former political advisor, 55, fell seriously ill with the virus in March 2020 and was placed in a coma to help his body recover from the symptoms.
He was discharged from hospital the following year but suffered severe damage to his body, including his heart and lungs.
Kate has regularly shared updates about Derek’s health as she continues to care for him while he battles various long-term effects.
