Kate Beckinsale, 49, took to Instagram to admit her heart is “totally broken” due to the death of her iconic cat, Clive.
The Underworld star shared a moving photo of herself cuddling Clive, who was wearing a pink onesie covered in cartoon pigs.
Sharing the sad news with fans, Kate wrote: “Clive has died.
“I don’t have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet.
“Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it . If anyone is expecting to hear from me , you may not for a bit and I’m sorry.

“My heart is absolutely and totally broken.”
It wasn’t long before Kate was inundated with support from her celebrity pals and fans alike, with Seth Rogen commenting: “I’m so sorry.”
Actress Eleanor Tomlinson told Kate she was “sending so much love”.
A fan commented: “He was the king of Instagram, we were all lucky to know him a little, thanks to your irreplaceable bond. What a life, what a cat, rest in piece Clive, we will all miss you greatly. Sending hugs. Xxx.”(sic)
Another fan replied: “I think he will be with you always, his personality was one in a million you blessed each other with love and happy memories.”
Kate’s beloved cat became a fan favourite, as he often featured in the star’s Instagram feed, dressed in a variety of sweet outfits.
In one photo, Clive could be seen strapped to Kate’s chest as she took him for a walk in the sunshine.
Last year, Clive was pictured sitting next to his owner on an inflatable swan that matched hers.
He was dressed in denim as Kate captioned the snap: “One is never too old,too grey or too furry to discover new joys.”
Kate didn’t confirm the cause of Clive’s death, but previously shared he was “quite old”, as the star got him when her and ex Michael Sheen’s daughter Lily Sheen, 20, “was little”.
Speaking about her pet in 2019 to People, Kate said: “We got him when my daughter [Lily Sheen, now 20] was little.
“And he usually is shaved into an odd shape, but he’s a recent cancer survivor.”
