British-Filipino model Kat Alano wrote a cryptic post about having friends “in all the right places,” after the Supreme Court’s (SC) Third Division junked the charges for rape by sexual intercourse and acts of lasciviousness filed against “It’s Showtime” host Vhong Navarro due to lack of probable cause.

The SC reversed the 2022 ruling of the Court of Appeals, as seen in a 42-page decision last Monday night, March 13, saying it “gravely erred” when it granted the appeal filed by model Deniece Cornejo, who claimed that Navarro forced himself on her on two occasions back in 2014.

The high court also noted that the inconsistencies in Cornejo’s allegations are deemed as “not trivial, minor, or inconsequential.”

Alano took to her personal Twitter account on the same day, where she seemingly hinted about having connections in “all the right places,” without mentioning the “Totoy Bibo” hitmaker in her tweet.

“So you gotta have frieeeends… Friends in all the right places, even when you’re wrong,” she wrote.

It can be recalled that the model spoke about being raped by a “still famous celebrity” whose name “rhymes with wrong” in June 2020. She also alleged that she was wearing a t-shirt and jeans during the incident, and the celebrity supposedly did a series of “smear campaigns to destroy my career.”

In December 2022, Alano opened up about feeling “broken and defeated” after Navarro was permitted by the Taguig regional trial court to post a P1-million bail for his temporary liberty, which is connected to the rape cases filed by Cornejo.

Shortly after his acquittal, the “It’s Showtime” host expressed his gratitude to his supporters for staying by his side as he faced the charges during a March 14 episode of the noontime show.

“May mga panahon na akala ko nawalan ako ng pag-asa, nawalan ako ng hope nung nasa loob ako, pero hindi ako tumigil sa pagdadasal. Kaya ito na po, dininig na ng Supreme Court ‘yung dasal natin, at nagkakaroon na po ng maganda ang ginawa nilang pagresolba doon sa kaso ko… Ngayon po, dahil sa Supreme Court, naniniwala po ulit ako na may justice system sa Pilipinas,” Navarro said.  /ra
