Karren Brady, 54, defended her friend James Corden, 44, as she sang The Late Late Show host’s praises.
The Apprentice star claimed the Gavin and Stacey actor is a “charming man” who she has been “lucky enough” to spend time with when he visited her football team West Ham.
Speaking on recent accusations from director Craig Duncan that James is “obnoxious”, Baroness Brady said: “James, is a West Ham super fan and I’ve been lucky enough to spend time with him.
“I’m afraid I don’t recognise these jibes in the slightest.
“He is a charming man, very easy, relaxed and funny.

“I’m afraid it’s easy to conclude it comes down to typically British envy.
“Some people can’t bear how successful he has become,” she added in her The Sun column.
Craig, who directed an episode of the Sky show that James hosted, said: “The most difficult and obnoxious presenter I’ve ever worked with is James Corden.”
James also faced more negative claims from an anonymous staff member of The Late Late Show on Friday.
“James dug his grave and he can cry all he wants, but he did this to himself,” the source claimed.
“His staff stood behind him for so long, but it got very old. His ego was over the top and he truly believed he was untouchable.”
“It’s not sad. It is karma,” the insider told MailOnline.
“Many people left his shows because he did not treat people how they deserved to be treated.”

James starred on A League of Their Own from 2010 until 2019 before heading to the US for the Late Late Show gig.
Yet things took a turn for the Gavin and Stacey star when he was accused of “yelling like crazy” after his wife received an omelette with “a little bit of egg white mixed with the egg yolk”.
He addressed the incident on The Late Late Show, saying: “My wife explained that she has a severe food allergy.
