Karan Johar, Guneet Monga team up for the Hindi adaptation of French film The Intouchables

After collaborating on The Lunchbox and Kill which arrived at the Toronto International Film Festival, Karan Johar and Guneet Monga are all set to team up again for a Hindi-language adaptation of French classic The Intouchables.

As per a press release, Karan Johar and Guneet Monga’s Indian adaptation of The Intouchables will be directed by Collin D’Cunha. The original film which was released in 2011 was directed by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache.

Opening up about the project, Karan said, “Working on The Intouchables is a creative challenge and a thrilling opportunity. We are committed to bringing the essence of this beloved French film to the Indian audience while infusing it with our cultural sensibilities.”

Guneet Monga said, “The Intouchables is iconic and one of the most celebrated films around the world. It is very exciting to be able to bring that to India and Hindi audiences. After a high-octane, action-packed, Kill we are laying our hands at dramedy which signifies the range of the spectrum of our collaboration with Dharma which we are incredibly excited about!”

Karan Johar and Guneet Monga’s jointly produced Kill reportedly opened to a good reception at the Toronto International Film Festival. It features Lakshya and Raghav Juyal, Tanya Maniktala and more.
