Kantara 2 is in the works. Rishab Shetty shares a major update

In the past year, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara was one of the films that became a conversation starter. The film garnered rave reactions from across the board and had a successful box office run. And now, it looks like Kantara 2 is in the works.

Kantara recently completed 100 days since its release. On the occasion, the film’s cast and crew got together for a celebration. This is where Rishab Shetty spoke about the next Kantara film. He revealed that what audiences have watched is the second instalment so the next film will be the prequel to Kantara.

In a major update, Rishab Shetty also shared that the film will arrive sometime in 2024. He said, “The idea flashed into my mind while I was shooting for Kantara because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. And currently, as far as the writing part is concerned, we are in the middle of digging into more details.”

He also teased that further details of the Kantara prequel film will come in soon since research is currently in progress.

Kantara’s prequel will also feature Rishab Shetty in the lead role. The film will be backed by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under the Hombale Films banner.
