“Just Staggering”- Oscar Isaac Lauds the Recreation of Cairo for Moon Knight
Episode 3 of Marvel’s Moon Knight TV show took the story of Steven and Marc from the bustling streets of London, England to the hot deserts of Cairo, Egypt.
Over the years, we have seen different interpretations of the African city in many movie franchises. With most of the story involving Egyptian deities and mythology, it was important for the show to give justice to the city and show what it represents, and according to the series’ leading actor in Oscar Isaac, Marvel Studios seems to have aced their job.
The actor had a ton of praises for the show’s production designer Stefania Cella, for her work on bringing the city of Cairo to life through the sets and props that we have seen in the past two episodes.
Isaac further talked about the importance of the work of Stefania Cella and her team for her cast, which includes Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy, who play Arthur Harrow and Layla El-Faouly, respectively in the Moon Knight TV show, as it allows them to bring their A-game in an environment they can immerse themselves in.
With two more episodes to go, it seems like we haven’t seen the end of Cairo just yet, as it still might have more to offer before it’s all done and dusted. So make sure to catch new episodes of Moon Knight on Disney+ Hotstar.
