Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Going on Three Week Hiatus

Jujutsu Kaisen manga is set to go on a break after the release of Chapter 221 on April 23.

The manga will resume with its next chapter on May 14, with Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #24.

It should be noted that all manga currently serialising in Weekly Shonen Jump will be on a break from April 29 to May 5 due to Japan’s Golden Week holidays anyway.

This is not the first time the Jujutsu Kaisen manga has gone on hiatuses. Author Gege Akutami had to take a break last year due to his health condition. This also happened in 2021, when the author announced an indefinite hiatus for the manga.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Current Arc is about Kenjaku and the revelation of the purpose behind the Culling Game. Akutami has stated that they want to end the manga before 2024, which means that the manga’s story is nearing its climax. The story is currently at a highly suspenseful and intense moment, which has led readers to believe that they may be left with a significant cliffhanger before the series goes on hiatus.

Such a development would only serve to heighten anticipation and excitement for the manga’s eventual return.
