Jack Nicholson appeared in high spirits as he made a rare outing to watch the Memphis Grizzlies take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

The 85-year-old Hollywood legend, who was pictured for the first time in two years earlier this month, looked delighted to be sitting courtside for the match at the Crypto.com arena in California.

Dressed in a dark suit jacket, black top, and maroon trousers, Jack smiled from ear to ear while enjoying the game and rubbing shoulders with fellow attendees.

At one point, Jack got out of his chair to give LeBron James, 38, a hug, and the pair were filmed exchanging a few kind words.

The wholesome moment left fans swooning online, with one claiming that the A-lister is Lakers’ lucky charm.

‘Love from one icon to another,’ another said, while a third added: ‘The real reason we’re winning.’

That wasn’t the only celebrity interaction of the night though, as One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest actor Jack also shook hands with American comedian Larry David, 75.

According to multiple US outlets, Lakers fan Jack hadn’t been seen at a game since October 2021.

He is a longstanding fan of the Lakers, having become a season ticket holder in 1970 and held courtside seats next to the opponent’s benches at The Forum and Staples Centre.

Jack was a regular fixture at Lakers games until 2021 when he began to withdraw from public appearances.

In 2020, Jack gave a rare interview following the death of Lakers player Kobe Bryant in a helicopter crash.

Speaking to CBS Los Angeles, he said: ‘My reaction is the same as almost all of L.A.

‘Where we think everything’s solid, there’s a big hole in the wall. I was used to seeing and talking to Kobe that — it kills you. It’s just a terrible event.’
