Johnny Depp won’t appear as Jack Sparrow in the new Pirates of the Caribbean film
Johnny Depp’s legendary role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film trilogy gained his enormous wealth and recognition. However, his affiliation with Disney came to an end after the Amber Heard legal battle.
As per numerous media reports, Johnny Depp won’t be returning to play his iconic character of Captain Jack Sparrow in Disney’s new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. In response to how he was treated during the Amber Heard controversy, Johnny Depp has “no intention of working with Disney ever again.” It is also reported that Johnny is so adamant about his choice that he won’t play Jack Sparrow again, even if doing so means forgoing a $20 million salary for a sixth movie.
Depp declared that his partnership with Disney had come to an unambiguous conclusion even during the defamation trial. After Heard’s accusations, Disney dropped Depp from the sixth Pirates film.
The producer of the “Pirates” movies, Jerry Bruckheimer, expressed his wish for Depp to return but acknowledged that Disney ultimately has the final say. In a 2022 interview with a leading news portal, he said,”You’d have to ask them. I can’t answer that question. I would love to have him in the movie. He’s a friend, a terrific actor, and it’s unfortunate that personal lives creep into everything we do.”
However, the sixth instalment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series might not draw a sizable audience if Johnny Depp decides not to return as Jack Sparrow.
